Netflix's "Medical Police"

Of the many shows the streaming service has released so far this year, Netflix’s Medical Police is arguably one of the goofiest. The show has been compared to the likes of Brooklyn Nine-Nine and Grey’s Anatomy and has an all-star cast that’s guaranteed to make you laugh.

The comedy series stars Erinn Hayes (Kevin Can Wait), Malin Akerman (Watchmen), Sarayu Rao (I Feel Bad), Rob Huebel (Children’s Hospital), and Lake Bell (Bless This Mess), according to IMDb.

What a lot of viewers didn’t realize though, is that Canadian actor Michael Cera actually plays a pretty big role in Medical Police as well. According to Screenrant, Cera makes no on-screen appearances, but he does play the role of Sal Viscuso — better known as the hospital’s PA system.

The Superbad actor has appeared in other Netflix projects before, including the streaming service’s popular Arrested Development reboot, which came to an end with its fifth season back in 2019, TV Line reports.

Cera’s IMDb page says he has several other projects currently on the go, including The Lego Batman Movie 2, Jonty, and Blazing Samurai.

The actor has come a long way over the years — as it turns out, one of his first projects ever was an unpaid Tim Hortons commercial when he was just a child.

If you haven’t yet had the chance to watch Medical Police, the series is a spin-off of sorts, coming from the same minds as those who brought you the Adult Swim classic, Children’s Hospital.

The Netflix original follows two American doctors who uncover a life-threatening virus in Brazil. They’re then recruited as government agents and must work together to uncover a cure before the world is infected.

Other noteworthy shows that came to Netflix in January include Messiah, Spinning Out, AJ and The Queen, and The Circle, just to name a few.

The first season of Medical Police is currently available on the streaming service. You can check out the trailer for the comedy series below.
