Netflix Wants To Give You More 'Tiger King' And Add A Dash Of Siegfried & Roy

It isn’t ending with Joe Exotic. It’s been announced that Netflix’s Tiger King has a second docuseries in the works. This time the series will have animal owners and magicians Siegfried and Roy in the spotlight.

Subscribers have been hooked on the streaming services documentary since big cat owner Joe Exotic, along with his conspiracy filled journey, was introduced back on March 20.

Now, the story is getting an extension, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Dr. James Liu, who was a part of the original Tiger King production, announced a sequel was in the works and would be released under the same name as the original.

Liu confirmed that the continuation wouldn’t be following the rivalry between Joe Exotic and Carole Baskin, but instead will take a look at the 2003 tiger attack that took place at Siegfried and Roy’s magic show in Las Vegas.

The duo was well known for incorporating their exotic animals in their sold-out shows.

The magic, however, ran out after Roy was attacked by a tiger and critically injured.

News of the docuseries comes just days after it was announced that the 75-year-old Roy had tragically passed away.

Liu also mentioned to The Hollywood Reporter that the next installment would look more closely into the controversial aspects that come with being an exotic animal owner.

However, Tiger King’s production company, Goode Films, denied they would take the sequel in that direction saying it’s “untrue that the direction is going in a more conservational route.”

This isn’t the first new project to come out of Tiger King. Netflix also recently released an aftershow hosted by Joel McHale that highlighted the cast’s experience filming the series.

It was also recently announced that Nicolas Cage would be taking on the role of Joe Exotic in an upcoming Tiger King film.

Netflix has yet to comment on the reported upcoming sequel.
