New Orleans is about to turn "Rockin' around the Christmas tree" to "Runnin' around the Christmas tree" at this jolly fun run. The 2019 Running of the Santas is more than just a bunch of Santas raiding the streets of NOLA, it's a full-on party. With lots of booze, music and pure entertainment decked in red and white, this New Orleans attraction is not to be missed.
There's nothing more symbolic of Christmas than jolly old St. Nick and if you aren't already in the holiday spirit, we're pretty sure thousands of Santas running around the city will get you there.
The 2019 New Orleans Running of the Santas is back and better than ever with lots of booze, extravagant costumes and plenty of live music on stage at Generations Hall in the Warehouse District.
This actual race to the "North Pole" starts at Apres Lounge and is only a few blocks long. This is no marathon, so you can squeeze in your daily exercise in just a few minutes.
Bright red Santas will pour into the streets as they make their way to the North Pole for the real party (if alcohol won't make you run, we don't know what will).
Even if you aren't feeling the idea of sweating in a bulky costume, you can simply watch the Santas drunkenly run for pure Christmas entertainment. You can still join the party, which starts at 3 p.m. on Dec. 7 at Apres.
There will be tons of great music and awesome drink specials to ensure that all the St. Nicks are jolly and drunk for their race. After the run, a grand celebration will await at the final North Pole destination at Generations Hall.
VIP tickets start at $85 and will get you unlimited beer for three hours at Apres and an open bar from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. at Generations Hall. Depending on how much you plan to drink, we'd say this is a pretty good deal.
Dance the night away to live music from local band, Category 6. General admission tickets are only $20 and you'll still get some pretty sweet drink deals. Act fast to grab your tickets because prices are increasing soon.
This is your chance to go all out with your magical Christmas costumes because there will be a "Cutest Santa" and "Best Costume" contest at 8 p.m.
