New Orleans Drag Performers Are Throwing A Cyber Distancing Festival This Weekend

"Cyber Distancing" is the new "Social Distancing."
New Orleans Drag Performers Are Hosting A "Cyber Distancing" Festival

With the weekend just a couple days away, we're seriously missing our downtime routines right about now. Whether you love to go bar-hopping with friends, clubbing with your BFF, or attend any and every drag show you can, you'll probably never take it for granted again. If you're in need of some fun in the next few days, two New Orleans drag performers are hosting a "Cyber Distancing" festival that you can enjoy without leaving your home, starting today!

Tarah Cards and Laveau Contraire, two incredible drag performers from New Orleans, are hosting Cyber Distancing starting tonight, from 6 to 11 p.m.

This will be New Orleans' first-ever online drag festival, but it won't be the last! Performances by Tarah, Laveau, and many other drag performers will continue through Saturday, March 28.

Friday's performances are also scheduled for 6 to 11 p.m., and Saturday's festivities will consist of a virtual drag brunch starting at 11 a.m.

You don't have to be from New Orleans to enjoy any of the above, as it will all be taking place through Zoom. After downloading the Zoom app, you can tune in here for all the fun.

New Orleans took a major economic hit from the timing of the coronavirus, as many Louisianans know.

Mardi Gras typically brings hundreds of thousands of tourists to NOLA, but this year's holiday was anything but epic.

Tarah and Laveau are providing the world with some light and positivity through their virtual drag show, and we couldn't be more excited to tune in.

You can expect to see other drag performers such as Alexa Milano, Carina von Tuna, and Hexxorsis rock the virtual runway as well.

Tips are welcome and encouraged! In fact, according to gambit, "Bartenders and staff who normally would have worked at the venue will be the recipients of tips collected through Venmo and PayPal."

Major kudos to the hosts for that one.

It's almost time to "drag" this horrible pandemic away!
