New Orleans Witch Festival Is This Summer

For those fascinated by all things witchy, New Orleans is the perfect place to explore any day of the year. But did you know that there's a whole weekend dedicated to Witches, rootworkers, Voodoo priests and other magical teachers? It's New Orleans' only witch festival, Hex Fest.

Hex Fest takes place on Aug. 7 through 9, 2020 at one of the most haunted hotels in New Orleans - The Bourbon Orleans.

The Bourbon Orleans is located right in the center of the French Quarter next to St. Louis Cathedral and Jackson Square, both known for their magical and mystical history.

The hotel also has a beautiful pool, so that's a total plus! You're not required to stay at the hotel in order to attend the festival.

If it's good enough to be the home of American Horror Story: Coven, it's good enough for all aspiring witches. Yup, AHS: Coven was filmed right in Louisiana.

But way before that, New Orleans was always a hot spot for occult religions, including Witchcraft, Voodoo, and Hoodoo. Tales of magic in this city stretch back over decades.

The schedule for Hex Fest is jam-packed with witchy workshops, psychic pow-wows, and rad rituals. Some of the coolest workshops include Developing Your Mediumship Skills, Salem Witches Spill the Tea: Tea Leaf Reading, and Foraging and Fossicking for Magickal Tools.

There are also a ton of workshops and classes that haven't been announced just yet.

The presenters range from an Australian world-record-holding skydiver to shamans and witch doctors to a High Priestess of the New Orleans Coven. So there's something for every witch in your life.

If you're interested in going to Hex Fest, be sure to act quickly. Hex Fest is limited to 300 witches total, so if you want to guarantee your spot, get tickets as soon as possible.

If you're concerned about getting to New Orleans, there are tons of cheap ways to do it, like this $3 bus to NOLA, or even direct flights from all over the US and some spots in Canada
