As Canadians, we all know that we’re pretty lucky to have so many amazing cities in our country.
A new report out today confirms what we already know. Three of our cities have made the top 10 of most livable cities on the planet.
So if you’re looking for the best places to live in Canada, these are them.
The report comes from the magazine The Economist, which issued its annual ranking for the top cities in the world today.
The magazine uses a wide range of factors, such as political and social stability, crime, education and access to health care, to determine the ranking.
Canadian cities usually do well in this report, and this year was no exception.
Tied for 7th on the list with Tokyo in Japan is Toronto. Unfortunately, for the largest city in the country, it dropped from where it was last year when it finished 4th overall in the world.
Vancouver fared a bit better than Toronto. It came in at 6th place, but this is also a drop from where it was last year when it came in 3rd overall.
The Canadian city that did the best this year is Calgary. It’s also the only Canadian city in the top 10 that moved up from where it was last year.
Calgary has managed to come in 4th in the world, moving up one place from last year when it came in 5th.
If you’re wondering what the best and worst cities are Vienna in Austria came in first, while war torn Damascus in Syria came in last.
