A Mysterious Plane Is Flying Around This Ontario City In The Dead Of Night And Nobody Knows Why
Mystery Plane in Kingston is baffling residents as it loudly flies around in the dead of night.
Over the last several weeks, residents of Kingston, Ontario have been trying to puzzle together a mystery that has been constantly waking them up in the early hours of the morning. They describe the sound like a high-pitched motor of a plane that can be heard almost every night, yet nobody actually knows why or where the plane is flying to. Kingston residents have taken to social media to describe their interactions with the mysterious plane that is flying around in the dead of night and to try and solve this mystery once and for all.
Tweets started to appear in early January with many residents wondering what that “loud airplane like noise” they were hearing every 10 minutes in the middle of the night actually was. One user reached out on social media about the noise and she was immediately answered by multiple residents confirming that they were hearing it too.
As the days grew on, the mystery started to pick up more traction and soon a majority of Kingston was trying to solve the mystery of the secret night plane that was loudly soaring by their houses every night.
@MIHomeYGK Does anyone else hear a loud airplane like noise in the area of Railway St. about every 5 to 10 minutes around the clock? Is it from one of the plants, Weston’s Bakeries, or the Coke plant?!?!— Dutchie (@cwensing) January 12, 2019
Last night I was hearing what sounded like airplanes flying over constantly— Valerie Gray 🇨🇦 (@ValerieGray2016) January 12, 2019
Hear it in Williamsville/Kingscourt. It’s been going on most nights for a week, usually starts after dusk, and can continue until 1 or 2 am. Glimpsed outline of a plane at dusk one night but cannot see any navigation lights.— Maggie Sutherland (@MissBBD) January 13, 2019
Doug Stewart, a local resident of Kingston told the Kingston Whig-Standard that he had been hearing this loud airplane noise every night since the start of January, while other residents are just starting to hear the sound this week.
Some users started to speculate that it was the RCMP since nobody was stepping forward to explain the mystery plane within the city. When National Post reached out to the RCMP they would not disclose whether the plane could be theirs as, “To maintain the integrity of our investigations and operations, the location of our aircrafts is not disclosed,”.
The Kingston airport and other local airports in that area also stated that they had no information about the plane that residents have claimed to be hearing in the middle of the night.
This is starting to leave Kingston residents at a loss, wondering who this mystery plane belongs to and why it is flying over their house at 2:00 AM multiple times during the week. However, this doesn’t stop the locals and other Canadians from guessing.
I finally seen the plane! It's a large prop plane with no lights on, it's not showing on the Live Flight Tracker and it seems to be circling Kingston. I am hearing it every 5 minutes fly over the house. @steffanwatkins @MIHomeYGK @cwensing— Valerie Gray 🇨🇦 (@ValerieGray2016) January 14, 2019
A security consultant from Ottawa who tracks military planes, Steffan Watkins, has jumped aboard this mystery to try and figure out exactly what and why the plane is there. He states, “It could literally be anything, and it could be flying for any reason,”. He stated that it could be a personal drone, RCMP aerial surveillance, or endless other possibilities.
As for now, the mysterious plane will continue to remain a mystery.
