All Of The Ontario Parks It's Illegal To Drink Alcohol In During The May 24 Long Weekend

No fun.

For most people the May long weekend is kind of the unofficial start of summer.

Lots of people also use it as a chance to get their first actual summer drinking session on, it isn’t called May 2-4 weekend for nothing.

But it seems the Ontario parks system has decided to put a damper on people’s long weekend celebrations because their banning booze from many provincial parks during the Victoria Day weekend.

That’s right, if you find yourself in an Ontario park this weekend the odds are you’ll need to be 100% sober for your stay.

The list includes well over 20 of the parks in the province.

Alcohol is permitted in Ontario Parks for most of the season with the exception of a two-week period around the Victoria Day weekend, why there’s a ban during this time period is not explained on the Ontario Parks website.

Provincial police say they will be enforcing a zero-tolerance policy at these parks.

Any one caught breaking the rules will not only be charged but also kicked out of the park for 72-hours. Which equates to being pretty much the whole long weekend.

So if you don't want to be kicked out and have your long weekend ruined you'll need to leave that 2-4 case of beer at home.

A full list of the parks where you will not be allowed to drink can be seen below.
