Woman Says Man At Banff National Park Told Her To Go Back To Her Own Country (VIDEO)
The video of the confrontation has been viewed over 830,000 times.
Canada's National Parks may be full of natural beauty, but on Aug. 3, one of them played host to an ugly encounter. A woman who was visiting Canada from the United States said a man at Banff National Park told her to go back to her own country after she confronted him about rude behavior.
The woman, who has only been identified as Victoria, told CTV News that the man and his group of friends had cut in front of people waiting to see the Johnston Canyon Falls. When she confronted the man later and told him he was being rude, she alleges that the man told her to "go back to her own country." That was when she started filming.
Victoria is an American citizen who immigrated from Russia over 20 years ago. She said on Twitter that she speaks with an accent.
In the video, Victoria asks, "Did you just tell me to go back to my own country?" The man replies, saying, "if you don’t want me to throw your phone away — walk." After the man tries to grab her phone, he tells Victoria, "You’re pushing limits you don’t want to push."
The video, which has garnered over 20,000 likes and retweets on Twitter, has people talking. Most of them have responded with outrage at the man's behavior.
A couple of Twitter users narrowed in on the man's clothing, even asking Harley Davidson to call out his behavior.
Of course, some people who saw the video were skeptical of the whole situation, and wondered what was missing.
There were even some responders who appeared to take the man's side in the situation.
Eventually, internet sleuths started working on finding out just who this guy is and whether anyone could identify him.
After some amateur investigating, someone messaged Victoria with the man's identity and she contacted the authorities.
No matter what the factors are in any situation, people should feel like they can visit a national park without being bullied or attacked.
