Everyone loves a good gelato, right? Well, Fiasco Gelato is offering free scoops of ice cream to Calgary voters next week in honour of provincial elections. If you're planning to go out to the polls, we've got a sweet treat for you! The elections are heating up, and Fiasco Gelato, one of Calgary's favourite dessert shops, wants to cool you down.
As the elections roll around, Albertans will be heading out the door to cast their votes in the provincial elections. Voting is important for all Canadians and it's beneficial to get out there and help determine your elected government.
While some refuse to go outside and vote, others take pride in taking part in democracy. In an effort to prompt locals to vote, local businesses have taken it upon themselves to entice Canadians into casting their votes. One gelato shop is offering a sweet deal for Calgarians that are heading out to vote next week.
There are only a few things that you have to do to get your free scoop of ice cream. Here are all the details!
It's been a controversial election year, why not put some joy into casting your vote! Head to your local polling station Tuesday, April 16th. You must be a Canadian citizen, and at least 18 years old.
Next week, when you vote, snap a selfie at the polls, something you would've probably done anyway or bring in your "I VOTED" sticker in exchange for a free sweet scoop from Fiasco Gelato.
Obviously, you'll need to be registered to vote! If you have already registered it's a pretty quick in and out procedure at the polls. No need to bring your photo ID, you'll already be on the voter's list.
If you haven't registered don't worry! You can do it at the polling station. Bring your Photo ID! You'll be required to complete a declaration form before receiving a ballot.
If you are not registered to vote contact Elections Alberta at a returning office or by phone at 1-877-422-9683. The polls will be open from 9:00 am to 8:00 pm and you can find a list of polling stations at the Elections Alberta website.
You can visit Fiasco Gelato at 221 19 Street SE #110 in Calgary. On Tuesday, April 16, they'll be open from 11 AM to 7 PM.
