Edmonton Is Getting A '90s-Themed Amusement Park Next Year (PHOTOS)
It'll be inspired by your favourite childhood toys like Mr. Potato Head and Playdoh.
A new amusement park is about to open in Alberta and Canada's never seen anything like it before. Edmonton's Hasbro theme park will be the first of its kind in the country and it'll transform your favourite '90s toys, games and characters into thrilling rides. If you're ready for an experience in life-sized childhood nostalgia, you'll want to check this place out.
The park will be located at West Edmonton Mall's Galaxyland. The massive project will see the entertainment destination transformed into a 165,000-square-foot Hasbro playground.
West Edmonton Mall promises to build over 25 news rides, toy-themed food spots and a shopping area. It'll be called "Galaxyland powered by Hasbro."
My Little Pony, Mr. Potato Head, Monopoly, G.I. Joe, Nerf, Play-Doh, Battleship and Operation are just a few of the themes you'll see at the new park.
Construction is beginning this month and the grand opening has been slated for winter 2020.
West Edmonton Mall is the largest mall in North America, with over 800 stores, 10 attractions, and 2 hotels.
The mall is already considered a major tourist attraction and entertainment destination, so it seems fitting that it'll be home to this exciting new project.
This isn't the only cool playground coming to Alberta next year. This spring, Calgary will be getting athat's over 300 metres long.
It's been called the "world's most epic inflatable obstacle course" by organizers for its variety of fun challenges for adults, including a "Bouncy Cage of Doom" and a "House of Hell" for the ultimate thrill-seekers.
We may have quite a while to wait for Galaxyland's Hasbro theme park, but from the sounds of it, the wait will be worth it.
