Aéropostale Is Plotting A Comeback In Canada Just In Time For Black Friday
There will be 75 participating locations.
It's been about three years since Aéropostale closed its stores in Canada. Now, the New York-based clothing company is coming back strong with even more locations than they had previously. Aéropostale and Bluenotes are collaborating to bring us 75 "shop in shop" locations across Canada where you can buy the brand that you remember from your childhood.
Shoppers can expect to see the once-beloved brand hit Bluenotes shops on Thursday, November 28, which means their items will be available for purchase in time for Black Friday.
Shoppers will be able to find Aéropostale products in Bluenotes locations exclusively. You can check out which locations are close to you here. There will be 39 locations in Ontario which include two Toronto locations.
This is only the beginning though because the American brand is looking to open up 20-30 of its own stores across Canada by the end of 2020, according to a news release.
The Bluenotes in Oakville Place will be the first location open on Wednesday, November 27, a day before all the others. The launch will take place from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. as a sneak peek.
According to Retail Insider, Aéropostale had 41 locations in Canada when they closed in 2016. This comeback is sure to bring out the nostalgia in those who used to shop there frequently.
"This new partnership is a perfect fit for our customers as our Jeans are the heart of both of the Bluenotes & Aéropostale brands," said Michael Roden, CEO of Bluenotes & AéropostaleCanada.
"This collaboration has been in the works for some time now and thanks to the hard work of everyone on the Bluenotes & Aéropostale teams, it's exciting timing to be able to reveal this in time for Black Friday."
We can expect to see the first five freestanding Aéropostale stores as soon as January and February.
“We’re going into construction in the early part of January and February with five locations," Roden told Retail Insider.
Online shopping will also be available. They will be launching some signature looks to kick off the launch before bringing more designs forward.
The line will re-introduce itself with a collection of Girls & Guys jeans plus branded graphics, hoodies, and joggers before expanding further.
All of the designs will be a collection that will be exclusive to Canada.
This is exciting news in a time where brick-and-mortar stores seem to be closing. This gives us a glimmer of hope for beloved names like , which recently , just like Aéropostale did in 2016.
Maybe we will see other retail brands come back in due time. Until then though, it's time to celebrate this comeback with a shopping spree.
