Whether they agree with his policies or not will be decided in the polls, but one thing is for sure, a lot of Canadians find Andrew Scheer creepy. Scheer, the Conservative Leader, is locked into a debate with NDP Leader Jagmeet Singh and Green Party Leader Elizabeth May. However, his focus is on the people at home as he stares directly into the camera.
Scheer kicked off the first debate of Canada's federal election by laying out his plan to aid health care and elevate financially stress on Canadians. The leader delivered his remarks in his typical matter-of-fact way, but some viewers thought it made him look stiff and rehearsed.
However, it was Scheer's unwavering eye-contact that really seemed to be giving people the heebie-jeebies:
Sheer's stare reminded some of the former prime minister Stephen Harper, who projected a similar straight-laced cadence during debates :
Whether his mannerisms upset you or not, it doesn't matter in the bigger picture. Scheer is a real contender for the country's leadership and he has made it clear that if elected, he will be doing things a lot differently than Justin Trudeau and his other opponents would, creepy stare or not.
