On Monday, July 6, a man named Ted Penston and his wife reportedly saw a pet owner in Saanich, B.C. abusing his dog and as a result. Penston, a bystander, decided to step in.

Penston allegedly saw the dog owner choking, kicking, and throwing his small dog in front of other park goers and children at Brydon Park.

This is the first time I’ve seen anything like this. We’ve been here 20 odd years.

Penston said he confronted the man who then swore at Penston before trying to punch him.

As a result, Peston stepped backwards and fell over and the stranger allegedly began to kick him.

While Saanich Police know who was responsible, no arrests have been made and an investigation is underway.
