The Oceanwise's Marine Mammal Rescue Centre is taking care of an adorable young seal found off the B.C. coast on July 10.

Staff on a BC Ferries vessel spotted the young seal pup looking lost in the water and decided to take her to the rescue centre, said BC Ferries spokesperson Tessa Humphries.

They’ve named her Chantel.

Her reason for admission, as listed by the centre, is due to "maternal separation" as well as an eye injury.

She's been at the centre for 14 days and has been on a diet of zoological milk formula.

But Chantel is set to go to "fish school" soon where the pup will take steps to hunt fish on her own.
