According to the Vancouver Sun, Ashcroft RCMP in British Columbia are searching for the four kids involved in the assault. Witnesses say that the incident took place yesterday on Sunday, June 23, 2019, while at a kids soccer tournament.

Witnesses reported the assault to an off-duty police officer after spotting the incident. According to RCMP Sgt. Kathleen Fitzgerald, a bystander who witnessed the scene yelled at the children to stop, causing them to scatter from the scene.

The four-year-old victim was taken to the hospital for the leg injuries he received as a result. Fitzgerald did not elaborate to the Vancouver Sun how severe the child’s injuries were.

At this time, it is unknown if the suspects were part of the soccer tournament or just siblings of kids who were participating. Fitzgerald has stated that the four suspects are estimated to be between the ages of four and 10.

Police are now turning to the public and the tournament-goers to help identify the suspects. Fitzgerald spoke with The Ashcroft-Cache Creek Journal and stated that depending on the ages of the suspects, charges may not be issued.

This is yet another child assault case that has taken place this year. Just a few weeks ago, a 15-year-old in Surrey was assaulted on video. In the video, you can hear a group of kids laughing while the teen gets pushed to the ground.

A similar attack also took place in Surrey this year. During this case, a teenage boy was videotaped as he was assaulted by a number of other teen boys. The victim was ganged up on in the woods and forced to get on his knees and kiss the feet of another student. The video ends before the victim was allegedly kicked in the face by another student.
