BC Dog Owners Terrified After Needle Meat Discovered On Popular Trail (PHOTO)
What kind of person would do this?
If you’re taking your furry friend out for a walk anytime soon, you may want to be hyper-aware of your surroundings. According to a Facebook post, a piece of meat with needles in it was found on a trail in B.C. on Saturday, Sept. 7. The concerned citizen took to social media to warn others and now everyone is freaking out.
A suspicious piece of meat was recently found on a trail in Burnaby, just outside of Vancouver, that had exposed needles in it and dog owners may want to be on the lookout next time they're hitting the trails. Lorraine Ismail obtained a photo of the meat and posted it on her personal Facebook page after hearing about her friend's encounter.
According to the post, the meat was found on Burnaby mountain. It was allegedly pulled out of the mouth of her friend's dog on the North Road trail.
Dog owner Jeff Curr has told Global News that the suspicious piece of meat was found while he was walking his dog, Murphy. The dog allegedly brought the meat out from the underbrush near the trailhead.
So far, the post has been shared over 2,000 times in hopes of warning the public. People are now freaking out over what they are seeing.
The dog owner told Global News that there was “definitely an intent to injure” although he is unsure whether the person was targeting dogs or other wildlife.
After hearing about the incident, a friend of the dog owner posted an image of the meat on social media.
The photo is shocking, to say the least. You can see several needles sticking out of the meat. It looks as though the meat is posted to a tree, however, it is unclear whether or not the meat was initially found like that.
According to Burnaby RCMP, officials were made aware of the meat at around 5 p.m. on Saturday. When police arrived on the scene, it was determined that 20 sewing needles were found inside the meat.
RCMP have stated that they will not be implementing security around the area and are instead asking the public to report any similar incidents. Anyone who comes across this in the future is encouraged to contact Burnaby RCMP at (604) 646-9999.
Ever since the incident, people have been posting their concerns online. A majority of the commenters on a Reddit post are confused as to why someone would do this.
Others have admitted that they thought it was a hoax when they first saw it due to how bizarre it actually is.
At this time, it is unclear as to why the meat was placed on the trail.
This is not the first time suspicious meat has appeared on a B.C. trail. Just three weeks ago, someone was dropping huge.
Delta police eventually linked someone to suspicious activity. No one was arrested and no dogs were reported to be poisoned.
