Get ready to relive your childhood! A reboot of a fan favourite is happening this summer. According to FOX, the Beverly Hills 90201 reboot will be filming in Canada this May and we have all the information you need to know about this upcoming show.
A new groundbreaking teen drama is coming to screens and giving us similar vibes to other teen shows, like Riverdale and Sabrina The Teenage Witch. 90201 is officially coming back to the small screen soon in a six-part series. The filming is set to take place this summer and they are even allegedly filming in Canada!
According to the Vancouver Sun, filming for the show will take place in North Vancouver at Brooksbank Avenue and will run from May 21 to July 31, 2019. If you find yourself in that part of the city, you might want to keep your eyes out for some familiar faces.
Brooksbank Avenue in North Vancouver is no stranger to film productions. Other popular films have also been shot there, including X-Files, Deadpool, She’s The Man, and Agent Cody Banks. So basically classics that we all love.
Originally premiering in 1990, 90210 became a household name amongst teens. Altogether, the show spanned a total of 10 seasons.
Now, the same cast is back for the reboot! That’s right, get excited. According to FOX, Jason Priestley, Jennie Garth, Ian Ziering, Gabrielle Carteris, Brian Austin Green and Tori Spelling will all be back for the revamped version of the show. FOX has stated that the cast will be playing “heightened versions of themselves” that will include inspiration from their real lives and relationships.
Unfortunately, the only original star that will not be there will be Luke Perry. Known for his role in Riverdale, Perry died of a stroke earlier this year. Prior to his sudden passing, Perry did not sign on to film the reboot. His 90210 co-stars have said that they plan on honouring the late actor in the show.
The cast hasn’t been together and filming for over 19 years. Now, they are back and will be rekindling what they left behind. The series is set to air during the summer of this year, so mark your calendars! We seriously can't wait to watch it.
This is not the first time a major film or show has been filmed in Vancouver, which has also been dubbed the "Hollywood North". Not too long ago, the Bat Signal was spotted in Vancouver for the filming of Gotham. During production, the Vancouver Art Gallery was totally redone to mimic the election of Mayor Akins.
The sequel of To All The Boys I've Loved Before is also currently filming in the city. So be sure to keep a lookout for any celebrity sightings when you're out and about in Vancouver!
