A new listing has surfaced on Padmapper, an apartment rental website, and it doesn't exactly look like your typical rental. Situated within an apartment in Vancouver, a graffiti-covered room is renting out for $600 a month, at a non-negotiable price.
The room is in the Mount Pleasant area, located on Fraser Street. According to the listing, it has a bedroom and one bathroom. The square foot size of the property is not reported.
"$600!!!! Females Only!!!! Max 2 Tenants!!! Beautiful Home!!!!," reads the rental description. There are several rental agreements described in the listing. For starters, tenants "must keep clean absolutely everything", with "no exceptions".
Some of the other rules include the following as described:
- "Hands Washed With Soap When Coming Home From Work Or Recreation"
- "People May Sleep Over But I Do Not Want Anyone Not Paying Rent Living Here"
- "Take Out The Trash Sweep The Floors Mop The Floors Clean The Toilet When Necessary"
- "Laundry Must Remain Clean Dirty Laundry To Be Stored And Washed Promptly"
- "Tenants Must Not Break The Law"
If tenants wanted to make their own mark on the graffiti walls, they must "use extreme caution and be clean when painting the walls".
