Major Party leaders have been making the rounds in Vancouver in the lead up to the federal election. On Wednesday, September 25, NDP Leader Jagmeet Singh met Vancouver Mayor Kennedy Stewart at Vancouver City Hall and the meeting appeared to be more than amicable. Mayor Stewart tweeted out how pleased he was to get the chance to meet Singh and the photos show the Mayor in a new light.

The tweet shows a collage of four photos of the meeting that took place and Mayor Stewart is simply glowing. Either he's the friendliest mayor in Canada or he was totally fanboying out when he met with Jagmeet Singh.

One thing that might explain the Mayor's obvious glow is that Kennedy Stewart was actually once an MP in the Burnaby South riding. Jagmeet Singh currently holds the mayor's former position.

There's a lot of history between the pair and that could explain why they look so happy to be reunited. Mayor Stewart was even wearing a bright orange tie for the meeting it what could have been a sneaky show of support for the NDP.

The photo collage is the most adorable thing we've seen in politics in a long time and it's a good relief from all the heavy and shocking news coming out about Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and his brownface scandal.

In a tweet, Mayor Kennedy said it was "[a] pleasure to welcome my friend Jagmeet Singh to Vancouver City Hall." According to the mayor, the pair discussed how the new federal government that will be elected later this year will work with the City of Vancouver. Issues they discussed include the overdose crisis, public transit and housing.

"Good to catch up with my friend and former colleague, Mayor Kennedy Stewart in Vancouver" read Jagmeet Singh's tweet about the meeting. The two of them appear to go way back.

"I support this 100%. Love the two of you together." Read one supportive tweet of the meeting. In another tweet, a video shows the two of them greeting each other as Jagmeet Singh steps off his bus by Vancouver City Hall.

Jagmeet Singh wasn't the only politician in town. Prime Minister Justin Trudeau was also in town the week of Monday, September 23 and his first press conference was delayed partly because the media bus got stuck and journalists had to get out and try to push it free. When he's not giving press releases, you can find the Prime Minister tackling the Grouse Grind and taking selfies with other hikers.

*According to the mayor's staff, the two of them became friends when Jagmeet announced that he wanted to run as the PM. Mayor Kennedy was actually one of the first people to endorse him and was super proud because Jagmeet chose the mayors former riding to make his own.

The meeting was very friendly and they touched on core issues in Vancouver plus exchanged stories about their new roles and had lots of advice for each other. As you can see from their meeting "from the photos and videos, it was very friendly and warm," said, Alvin Singh, Director of Communications for the mayor.
