Over the weekend, an intense takedown ensued outside a popular fast food joint. According to a video posted online, a Vancouver police tasered and tackled a 22-year-old man outside McDonalds after allegedly stabbing someone. A bystander was nearby and caught the entire thing on video.

According to Global, a large crowd was leaving a music festival in Vancouver, Breakout Festival, when a man was dramatically taken down by police. Officers have stated that they were called to a McDonalds at East Hastings Street and Cassiar Street just after 10 PM for the report of a stabbing near a bus stop.
According to a video posted on Twitter, the incident took place on June 16, 2019. “Just saw racist Vancouver cops point a gun at a kid’s stomach, taser him, and then tackle him to the ground outside of the McDonalds at cassiar and hastings,” wrote the video poster in his tweet.
Police officials have stated that the suspect, a 22-year-old man from Surrey, was near the bus stop when they attempted to arrest him at gunpoint. Police say he was uncooperative.
In the video, you can see two officers pointing weapons at the man who is standing in between two vehicles. He is eventually arrested after police use a taser on him.
You can see and hear the taser go off in the video. Once he is tasered, the male officer tackles the suspect to the ground with force.
Police told Global that a knife was recovered at the scene and the suspect, who remains in custody, was treated for a cut on his hand that had allegedly happened before the police arrived.
The victim was reported to be a 22-year-old Langley man. He was taken to the hospital where he was treated for non-life-threatening injuries. Police say the suspect and the victim did not know each other and had a “verbal dispute” that lead to the stabbing.
According to CTV News, police are recommending charges of assault with a weapon against the suspect. His identity has not been revealed to the public.
