BC's COVID-19 Cases Top 5000 As They Break Every Single Record
This new spike in cases is unprecedented in the province.
The province is smashing every record after they barreled past 5,000 totalover the weekend.
In her update on Monday, August 24, B.C. provincial health officer Dr. Bonnie Henry announced a total 269 cases of COVID-19 over the previous 72 hours.

From Friday to Saturday, Henry reported 109 new cases of the disease; this beats out theof 100 on Friday, August 14.
The currently active cases also reached a new high at 913, breaking past the 900 mark for the first time in history.
However, the province is pushing back; they recently releasedagainst gatherings, rolling out $2,000 fines for those who break the rules.
