Everyone has good and bad days when it comes to their job but when a company gets ranked as one of the best in the country, its employees must be pretty happy. One of the best employers in Canada is Costco and it's a great place to work according to Forbes. So if you work there or even if you're just a shopper, you now know that when you walk into those stores, it's a good place to be.

For 2020, Forbes released a list of Canada's best employers. Out of 300 employers that got the most recommendations from 8,000 Canadians working for those businesses, Costco was ranked as the fourth-best in the country.

It was only beaten out by Cisco Systems, Hydro-Québec and Google.

According to Forbes, the job market has been strong in Canada lately and employers have been tested to do more to make people want to stick it out with them.

For the Canadian side of operations, the company is headquartered in Ottawa but it all originates from the U.S. where it's headquartered in Issaquah, Washington.

The first Costco warehouse opened in Seattle back in 1983 and now that it operates north of the border, there are more than 10 million members across the country.

With 39,000 employees in Canada, everybody's favourite wholesaler is also the one in the top five with the most people working for it.

Costco is actually the only retailer in the top five and even the top 10.

You have to go all the way down to 17th place to find the next retailer, Apple.

Google, headquartered in Toronto with 2,300 employees, took the top spot as the best employer in Canada. It's followed by Hydro-Québec, Cisco Systems, Costco and Ubisoft, in that order.

Costco is basically your one-stop-shop for everything from appliances to food to decor to gas to pharmacy items.

It's also one of the places where you can get your hands on that Timbits cereal.

It might make shopping there even better when you know that it's one of the best places to work in Canada.

So many people love shopping at Canada's second-largest retailer for great deals on just about everything and based on this ranking, employees are pretty fond of going there too.
