When it comes to long road trips and late nights, gas station coffee is often our best friend. While some Canadians may prefer their regular coffee shops opposed to the gas station quick fix, some gas stations do have better coffee than others.  In fact, one recent ranking just listed the best gas station coffee across Canada, so you can enjoy that quick caffeine fix while on the road.

In honour of National Coffee Day, GasBuddy compiled a list of the best gas stations to grab a cup of coffee across Canada. Reviewing more than 3 million user ratings and over 11,000 locations, they were able to piece together your go-to coffee list.

According to GasBuddy, when it comes to grabbing a coffee at a local gas station, 53 percent of Canadians gave positive ratings, which was up 3 percent from 2016. Yet, when it comes to which gas station has the best cup of coffee, Canadians of course, seem to have a favourite.

According to GasBuddy, Irving Oil is the go-to place when it comes to getting your cup of coffee while also filling up your tank. While it may not be the most popular gas station that Canadians can find on every corner, it may be worth stopping at if you're looking for an excellent cup of coffee.

Coming in second, Co-op gas stations are another place that you want to head to when it comes to grabbing a good cup of coffee while on your late-night road trip.

Recently promoting that their coffee "beans are roasted in Western Canada", it's one of the gas stations that Canadians can feel confident that they are getting something local.

Ultramar, Esso, and Shell also made the top five list for the gas stations with the best coffee. Esso, known for serving Tim Hortons coffee at a variety of their locations, came in fourth on the list.

According to GasBuddy, the need for a gas station coffee is rising among Canada. Frank Beard, retail trends analyst states that "Consumers are looking for ways to save time without sacrificing quality, these top-rated brands are making it easy to get caffeine, fuel, and more in a one-stop-shop destination."

While Canadians may want convenience more than anything, it seems that these gas stations are able to give them the one-stop location without sacrificing the taste of a good cup of coffee.
