After officially closing all of their Canadian stores last November, US clothing retailer Forever 21 has announced that they’re coming back to Canada, but not in the traditional sense. Despite closing 44 Canadian locations only two months ago, Forever 21 is already making plans to return to the region, but this time as an online retailer only.

Towards the end of 2019, the chain broke thousands of Canadian hearts when it declared bankruptcy and closed all of its stores in the country.

However, the fashion retailer has now proved that it hasn't forgotten about its Canadian customers, by announcing a brand-new retail platform online.

According to a report from Retail Insider, as part of the store's big plans for its Canadian customers, it is re-launching an international online store that will ship items globally.

Targeting customers in Canada, Asia, Latin America, and the Asia-Pacific region, Forever 21 has partnered with e-commerce platform Global-e to sell their products worldwide once again.

While Forever 21 has recently closed nearly 200 physical stores in those target markets, they're confident this new venture will "engage digitally savvy consumers."

Alex Ok, the company's president, explained, “With the continued increase in demand from international shoppers for our brand, we recognized that an advanced global online shopping experience is a fundamental part of our future growth."

According to the latest press release from Forever 21, its partnership with Global-e will allow the retailer to sell and send products to Canada, Asia, Europe and Latin America, without having to have physical stores or warehouses in each region.

The brand-new website will reportedly be able to support more than 95 different currencies, as well as over 150 local and alternative payment methods.

Additionally, there will be convenient tax and duties calculation with an option for real-time pre-payment at checkout, localized checkout in 21 languages, a wide choice of shipping methods at affordable rates, and even an easy returns process!

Ok explained, “The seamless localized shopping experience our consumers around the world can now enjoy is a vital milestone in our mission to use the latest retail technology to bridge the online gap between the convenience of e-commerce and the local experience of in-store.”

Forever 21 has yet to reveal a specific date for when the new e-commerce website will be up and running.
