Canadians and fans all over the world were absolutely heartbroken when it was revealed last month that American and Canadian television host Alex Trebek was diagnosed with cancer. Now, he has given fans his latest update as the 35th season of Jeopardy! comes to an end. Jeopardy! host Alex Trebek gave a cancer therapy update to fans in a new video.
The video was uploaded to Youtube today. It was posted to the Jeopardy! channel. In the video, Alex Trebek gave a message of hope to his fans and thanked them for all his support.
At the beginning of the video, Ontario-born Trebek takes the time to thank his fans for their sustained support through his treatment. "So here on the last day of taping for our 35th season, I wanted once again to thank you for your continuing messages, encouragement and support," he said. "Particularly the many cards I've received from young people, I'm touched beyond words."
He then says that he wants to set the record straight on his current health condition as he is now undergoing therapy for his cancer diagnosis. "I've always tried to be straight with you, and I'm not going to stop now. So despite what you may have heard, I'm feeling good. I'm continuing with my therapy."
The Canadian and American TV host also told fans that he plans on returning to host the show next season. "We, by we [I mean] the staff, is already working on our next season, the 36th year of Jeopardy. So I look forward to seeing you once again in September, with all kinds of good stuff."
