The Conservative Party took another shot at the Prime Minister on Twitter. In a tweet posted on Sept. 16, the CPC shared a screenshot of Justin Trudeau and Faith Goldy, originally posted by Warren Kinsella. Kinsella wrote, "apparently some other politicians have 'shared a platform' with Faith Goldy. Awkward."

The screenshot had originally been shared by Goldy herself. She wrote, "Only one federal leader has bought me drinks at Ottawa's Château Laurier. Any guesses?" The CPC then wrote in their own tweet, "Fact check this one for us. @LPCPressBox."

Faith Goldy, who mounted an unsuccessful campaign in Toronto's mayoral election, has been suspended from Facebook for spreading extremist views and hate speech. She was also fired from The Rebel for her coverage of the 2017 Unite the Right rally in the United States.

The screenshot came from a 2012 Sun News video posted to Youtube in which Faith Goldy (while she still worked for the outlet) tries to interview Justin Trudeau. However, Trudeau does not engage with Goldy and instead continues to walk and talk to someone else.

According to a fact-checking article from The Walrus, Kinsella's post was seemingly a response to Immigration Minister Ahmed Hussen, who said political candidates should never "share a platform" with hate groups, referring to Conservatives who had ties to Goldy.

A number of Canadians responded to the tweet. Many of them called out the CPC for spreading misinformation and some even posted a link to an interview that Conservative leader Andrew Scheer did with Goldy on Rebel Media.

Eventually, the LPC Press Box did actually reply to the CPC tweet, denying that Justin Trudeau had ever had drinks with Faith Goldy, and that Scheer actually appeared on Faith Goldy's show.

The Canadian federal election is set to take place on Oct. 21, with the English and French language debates scheduled for Oct. 7 and Oct. 10, respectively.
