The Record-Breaking Lotto Max Jackpot Is Still Up For Grabs & There's More Money To Be Won
There's a lot of cash to be won.
Unfortunately, nobody woke up as a new multimillionaire this morning because of the lottery but all hope is not lost. If you were hoping to win the big jackpot you still can! The Lotto Max Canada jackpot is still up for grabs and more money is available for the next draw.
The record-breaking $70 million jackpot wasn't won in the January 3 Lotto Max draw and while you might be cursing the lottery gods for not giving you that money, you can buy another ticket to win it.
So if you're willing to spend a little money to get a lot of money, you still have the opportunity to do so.
Since the jackpot wasn't won it'll carry over to the next draw and be available to win on Tuesday, January 7.
The draw wasn't a total bust. Eight Maxmillions prizes were given out across Canada by 13 ticket holders in Ontario, Quebec, B.C., the Prairies and Atlantic Canada.
For the next draw, the total prize pool will be about $95 million, including the huge jackpot and 25 $1 million Maxmillions prizes.
You can buy Lotto Max tickets up until 10:30 p.m. ET on Tuesday for that draw for your chance at winning a lot of cash.
The $70 million jackpot is the biggest lottery prize offered in Canadian history.
In the spring, changes to the game came into effect that allowed the Lotto Max prizes to be larger than the former $60 million jackpot.
Then in June, for the first time ever and that was record-breaking.
Now, this is the first time that $70 million has been offered and it smashed the previous record.
Even if you don't win the huge jackpot, getting one of the Maxmillions prizes wouldn't be so bad.
Whenever the Lotto Max jackpot reaches $50 million, the Maxmillions prizes are also offered.
Your odds of winning the big prize are about one in 33,294,800 per $5 play but your odds of winning any prize are actually one in seven.
