Listen up, fast-food lovers! McDonald's is launching their new “Fish & Chips" menu item across Canada tomorrow. While it's here for a good time, it's not here for a long time so you better get it while you can. The Fish & Chips will be available for a limited time only at all participating McDonald's locations in Canada.
Starting tomorrow, Tuesday, May 14, McDonald's lovers will be able to try this new meal. According to McDonald's, their new "Fish N Chips" option is a take on a classic favourite that will feature two pieces of fish. All the fish used is 100% sustainably caught Canadian Atlantic Haddock.
Of course, it will be served with fries and a tartar dipping sauce for the fish. I don’t know about you, but it honestly looks amazing!
In order to produce this new menu item rollout, McDonald's ensured that it was working with sustainable and local ingredients. All the haddock used will be certified as sustainable by the Marine Stewardship Council (MSC).
It will also be caught off the waters of Nova Scotia and supplied by a Canadian company. In order to keep it even more local, McDonald's is packaging all the fish in Atlantic Canada.
According to CBC, McDonald's has estimated that it will be using around 32,400 pounds of haddock.
Last summer, McDonald's Canada released the Fish & Chips in select locations across Atlantic Canada to test out the new menu item. Now, it will be launched across the country for the first time.
While this food item is new, it is not holding a permit place. According to CBC, this new item will run until August so we have to get it while we can!
McDonald's is also releasing a new Chocolate Nanaimo McFlurry tomorrow as well! You won't want to miss out on this nanaimo bar flavoured treat.
