Tim Hortons revealed the latest addition to their Canadian lunch menu this Monday, the Chicken Sandwich, which the beloved chain has priced at just a toonie and some change. The new Tim Hortons sandwich is just $1.99, which is pretty cheap compared to their other sandwich offerings.
"Sandwiches on the current Tim Hortons Canada lunch menu range from $4.69 - $5.99," Tim Hortons tells Narcity. "We're excited to be able to offer guests a sandwich that is not only delicious, but at a lower price point for our guests to enjoy." The Ham and Swiss Sandwich, for example, is $4.99. Even the most standard of Tim Hortons' breakfast sandwiches, such as the Sausage English Muffin, goes for $2.99. Making the new Chicken Sandwich an outstanding deal in comparison.
The new chicken sandwich is the first new lunch item we’ve seen from the company in a while. However, Tim Hortons has released a number of delicious new breakfast treats and baked goods recently, including the new French Toast Breakfast Sandwich and the Tiramisu Donut.
According to Canadify, Timmie’s new Chicken Sandwich is a 100 percent seasoned and breaded white meat chicken patty. It also comes with lettuce and mayo on a fresh bun. Here's what it looks like:
This isn’t the first time that Tim Hortons has offered a lunch sandwich for $1.99, Tim Hortons tells Narcity. Back in 2012, Tim Hortons offered a similar chicken sandwich for the same price. Now, the affordable sandwich has made a comeback across Canada. Watch out McDonald's, this sandwich could be giving the McChicken a run for its money!
