Mere weeks ago, hardly anyone had heard of the small Canadian town of Dildo. However, thanks to Jimmy Kimmel and his ambitions to become mayor of the small town, Dildo is now officially on the map. In fact, in recent weeks the town has seen a huge surge in tourism, thanks to what the area is calling, “the Kimmel effect.” Now, it seems free promotion for the community just keeps on coming, as a popular porn website has now offered Dildo $100,000 worth of free advertising on their website!

It was announced on Tuesday that porn site ‘YouPorn’ sent a very special open letter to the town of Dildo, offering up to $100,000 worth of advertising on their x-rated website. Hoping to help Dildo capitalize on their recent tourism boom, the letter offers a completely free ad campaign for the town, noting that their porn website receives around 20 million home page views every single day.

According to the Toronto Sun, the Vice President of YouPorn congratulated Dildo on their recent recognition, before writing, “In order to keep up the good times my staff and I are elated to offer the town of Dildo a free ad campaign towards your tourism efforts worth $100,000 on YouPorn!”

The letter went on to say, “We hope Dildo’s Tourism Department accepts our offer soon, so that we can bolster the town’s economy through supporting the municipal services your residents’ desire and deserve.”

The letter comes after the town has seen a considerable influx of tourists in recent weeks, primarily due to what the town calls, “the Kimmel effect.” Since Jimmy Kimmel started his satirical campaign to become the mayor of Dildo, it is thought that the town has gained equal, if not more, advertising than it is allocated from the government in a whole year.

According to one expert, the hundreds of segments, jokes and other references to Dildo on Kimmel’s show would have reached approximately 45.1 million people, which would be equal to an advertising value of around $11.7 million.

Tourism Minister Christopher Mitchelmore explained to CBC News that it wasn’t just Dildo that was benefitting from all of the extra interest in the town. There are over 20,000 people that are working in the tourism industry, 2,800 businesses and … they're all very happy," he said.

"The people of Dildo and the business community there are elated, but the effect will be felt provincially," Mitchelmore concluded. 

It is not clear yet whether or not the town will accept the naughty website’s offer of free advertising, and no official statement has been made by the Dildo mayor. However, with 20 million viewers each day on YouPorn’s website, it must be pretty hard to say no!
