Only One Province Doesn't Have Winners & HomeSense Stores Open Yet
Not everyone is a Winner.
It's not time to shop just yet. Even with more and more stores opening, not every part of the country is at the same stage. The Winners HomeSense reopening that's been happening across Canada hasn't reached this one province as of yet.
Winners and HomeSense stores reopened in Canada to much joy from shoppers and the excitement-filled speak for themselves.
Even though stores have started to let in customers once again all over the country, it hasn't happened coast to coast yet.
That's because no Winners or HomeSense stores are open in Newfoundland.
The province still has restrictions on what businesses can operate during the pandemic.
Currently, the province is at Alert Level 4 and with that, retail stores that don't offer essential services aren't allowed to reopen.
That includes bars, lounges and movie theatres.
With stores being opened in health and safety measures in place that would also be followed in Newfoundland when restrictions are lifted., there are a bunch of
Store capacity is limited, protective shields are at cash registers and cleaning throughout the day has been enhanced.
Customers are also being encouraged to wear a mask when shopping in-store and follow physical distancing guidelines.
Newfoundland & Labrador's COVID-19 Alert Level System lets people know which public health measures have been relaxed and which are still in place.
An easing of some rules and a move to Alert Level 3 is tentatively set to happen on June 8.
That would allow retail stores, including ones in shopping malls, to reopen with some restrictions still in place.
So, shopping at Winners and HomeSense in Newfoundland could resume soon.
In Ontario, people were so excited to get back into these stores that there wereat a bunch of locations.
Some people even brought lawn chairs to make the waiting more relaxing.
That brings the total up to 261.
