Police were called to monitor an anti-mask shopping trip at Devonshire Mall in Windsor-Essex on Saturday afternoon.

Hundreds of people had planned to attend, according to AM800, but the actual turnout was much smaller.

The event was planned by members of a Facebook group called Questioning Covid in Windsor-Essex, which has around 1,000 members.

The creator of the Facebook group, Currie Soulliere, was the one to organize the event.

I really encourage everyone to spend money, only at the places where we’re welcome.

Windsor Police Constable Natyshak told Narcity that officers were there to monitor the situation; however, there were no incidents to report.

Soulliere wrote in a detailed Facebook post that she was greeted by hecklers wearing plague masks and was refused service at multiple stores.

Anti-mask demonstrations are nothing new to Canada. Protests have been taking place all over the country in recent months.

Premier Ford has been openly critical of these protestors, calling them a "bunch of yahoos."
