Big changes are coming to MINISO, the Chinese low-cost, high-quality variety chain that took Canada by storm in 2017. MINISO Canada announced that it is planning to introduce a new concept store, called MINISO $10BELOW, at three Ontario store locations. MINISO's Marketing Manager, Jessica Pecora, tells Narcity that the new concept store will sell the same extensive product selection as regular MINISO stores, but at an even more affordable price, since all items are below $10.
The MINISO $10BELOW concept stores are rolling out at select locations: Toronto Eaton Centre, Pickering Town Centre, and Stone Road Mall in Guelph, Ontario. But according to the company, the concept store may expand to more locations across Canada.
Pecora also told Narcity that amazing promotions and events specifically for $10BELOW stores are currently in the works, so keep an eye out for company announcements!
The announcement comes just in time for the soft opening of MINISO's new Toronto location at 219 Queen Street West. The soft opening is today, June 6th, and the store is MINISO's biggest retail location. The store officially opens on Saturday, June 29th.
MINISO has over 1,800 stores globally, and its reputation for aesthetic and intelligent product design has garnered the company a strong millennial following. Price-conscious and sophisticated shoppers flocked to MINISO's retail locations when the brand came to Canada as part of its ambitious worldwide expansion.
The company plans to open 6,000 stores globally by 2020, averaging 80 to 100 store openings per month. In Canada, the company plans to operate as many as 500 stores in the coming years, with a focus on Toronto, Vancouver, and Montreal.
MINISO currently offers a curated mix of high-quality and stylish lifestyle products, including cosmetics, home furnishings, electronic accessories, stationery, and kitchenware.
The company launches new products every month, so Canadians can expect a fresh line of products almost every time they visit a MINISO store!
