If you've ever dreamed about joining the OPP now's your chance. Ontario Provincial Police Recruitment Day is happening next month with hundreds of jobs available. According to the OPP's recruitment unit, this job fair will be their biggest even ever.
The hiring event takes place on one day, Saturday, May 25, in over 30 different Ontario cities and towns. The recruitment unit says that there are hundreds of career opportunities available.
It's not just for police officers either. While there are open positions for provincial constables, there are also positions open for civilians and volunteer positions as well.
While the Recruitment Day events may vary by city, to give you an idea of what to expect, the event in Toronto will last all day on May 25, from 8 AM EST to 4 PM EST. According to the event details the symposium, as they call it, will feature an indigenous performance, a performance by the OPP motorcycle unit, a constable information session for anyone wanting to become an officer, and of course a career marketplace.
The marketplace in Toronto will have booths from all sorts of units, including Forensic Identification Services, the Auxiliary Program, the Queen's Park Detachment, and the Wellness Unit, among others.
On their Twitter, the OPP confirmed that not only is this their biggest hiring event, but it's on the OPP's biggest events ever. In fact, the recruitment day spans across the entire province, from Thunder Bay and other Northern towns all the way down to Niagara.
The full list of all 39 Recruitment Day locations is available on the OPP careers website, but some of the places include, but are not limited to:
- Thunder Bay
The events in some places may fill up quickly so the OPP advises checking out their career page for more details and to register in advance via Eventbrite. The links to register are available for each town on the event details pages. Only those registered on Eventbrite will be allowed to attend.
