An Ontario man is once again wanted by police for allegedly committing a sexual assault in an Ottawa hotel. 37-year-old Brandon Radtke of no fixed address is wanted by police for breaking into a downtown hotel room earlier this month and sexually assaulting a woman. Radtke has faced similar charges in the past. He is currently wanted for criminal harassment and breach of probation.
According to the Ottawa Police Service, Radtke entered an occupied hotel in the city’s downtown area on May 11th and committed the sexual assault. The 37-year-old is described as a Caucasian male, 6-feet tall, 175lbs. Radke has short brown hair, dark facial hair and a mole on his right cheek.
The suspect is known to hang out in the city’s downtown core and west end, where he breaks into hotels and motels in the area, police allege. Radke travels by bus and has been seen carrying a black duffle bag.
According to the Ottawa Sun, police previously asked for help in locating a suspect involved in an incident in which a 20-year-old woman was sexually assaulted in her sleep. The assault took place on the Algonquin College Woodroffe Avenue campus on October 14th, 2018 at around 3:40 AM.
Police were able to link Radtke to the 2018 incident due to an overwhelming response by the public following the release of surveillance camera images. Radke was charged with sexual assault, failure to adhere to a probation order and possession of a scheduled substance.
As a result of his charges, Radtke was sentenced to 30 days in jail for sexual assault and lesser crimes. His sentence came with a two-year probation order which barred him from Algonquin College, as well as contacting or going anywhere near his victim.
Radtke was also forced to registered as a sex offender and his DNA was put into a database. He has also been prohibiting from owning weapons for 10 years.
Police are asking for anyone with any information on Radtke’s whereabouts to contact detectives at 613-236-1222.
