Tragedy has once again struck the city of Brampton. Peel Regional Police discovered a man, woman, and child all suffering serious injuries at a Brampton home late Wednesday evening after responding to calls about a domestic dispute. According to a report by CityNews, Officers were called to Quarry Edge Drive Near Main Street and Boivard Drive East just before 11:30 PM on Wednesday. The Brampton stabbing ultimately led to the deaths of both a man and a woman.

Once at the home, officers breached the door of the residence and entered the bathroom where they discovered a man suffering from multiple stab wounds. Officers initially arrested the man but he was later pronounced dead at the scene. According to a report by Global News, the man had been treated by Peel Paramedics before dying of his wounds just after midnight.

A woman and child were also found in the home. The woman was badly injured and died later in the hospital, the child was also suffering from what sources are calling "defensive wounds", reports Global News. However, he was taken to the hospital and is expected to survive.

According to CityNews, the Special Investigation Unit (SIU) arrived on the scene at around 5:00 AM. There are currently six investigators assigned to the case, three investigators and three forensic investigators.

According to Carl Hanstke of 680NEWS, it appears as though the man stabbed himself after stabbing both the woman and child inside the home. However, this detail has not been confirmed by police. Police do say of the incident that "there are no outstanding suspects. There is no concern for public safety."

The SIU is asking for anyone with any information about the incident to contact the lead investigator at 1-800-787-8529. The Unit is also asking for anyone who may have video evidence linked to the case to upload the file through their website.

According to SIU's official website, they are "an arm’s length agency that investigates reports involving police where there has been death, serious injury or allegations of sexual assault."
