Two teenagers have been charged after a social media fight club in Brantford, Ontario was discovered by police.

According to a statement, the two young women, ages 13 and 14, have been charged with assault after another 13-year-old girl was beaten.

Police have said that videos of the altercations were posted on social media.

These assaults had been documented by video and made public on social media, further victimizing the young female.

The victim's parent was the one who reported the issue to police after his daughter needed medical attention for minor injuries.  

After investigating, authorities found that the online "fight club" hosts both willing and non-consensual participants for the brawls.

The accused have received four assault charges between the two of them.

The 13-year-old suspect is facing three assault charges at this time.

Police are reminding parents to monitor their children's online activity as "often youth are hesitant to come forward and could downplay an incident as they may fear retaliation from bullies."
