This week is sure to bring all kinds of thrills for racing fans but for the rest of the city, it'll be a traffic nightmare. Honda Indy road closures will be in effect this week from Wednesday, July 10th to Sunday, July 14th. According to CP24, a significant chunk of Lake Shore Boulevard West will be shut down during the event.
So, how bad are these closures expected to be? Delays of up to 30 minutes on the Gardiner are expected during off-peak hours this week.
City officials are also warning commuters that they may experience “severe delays” on the TTC’s 501 Queen and 504 streetcar lines and GO bus routes 16, 21 and 31.
Practice runs for the Honda Indy are scheduled to take place on Friday with the race expected to begin around 3:40 PM on Sunday. Roads will be reopened by 11:00 PM on Sunday.
