Toronto’s One Direction fans are in for quite the experience this summer. Louis Tomlinson, a former member of the group, has just announced that he will be playing Rebel on June 12th as part of his first world tour as a solo artist. Tomlinson announced in October that he would be releasing his debut solo album, "Walls", in January.

The singer, who is the last member of One Direction to release a full-length solo album, announced the news via Instagram on Wednesday. “I’m really relieved to finally be here,” he explains in the video. “Thank you very much, everyone, for your patience.” Tomlinson dropped two singles, “Two of Us” and “Kill My Mind,” earlier this year.

Toronto fans took to social media on Thursday morning to express their excitement over the news. “Louis Tomlinson is playing Rebel in Toronto, and if I don't get one of those 2,500 tickets, I’m going to be forced to remove all the skin off of my body,” wrote one excited fan. “I really hope I can go to the Toronto one,” wrote another.

At the moment, Toronto is the only Ontario spot on tour. Tomlinson will only be playing in one other Canadian location, Vancouver.

However, Tomlinson has stated that more dates would be added later on. “Can't wait to see you all on tour. There are also a few more dates going up at a later date. Thanks for everything. Here we go,” the artist wrote on Facebook.

According to Rolling Stone, Tomlinson first debuted as a solo artist with a collaboration with Steve Aoki, “Just Hold On,” back in 2016. He later released another collaboration, “Back to You” with Bebe Rexha and Digital Farm Animals.

His first solo single “Two of Us” won Choice Song: Male Artist at the Teen Choice Awards. The song was a tribute to his mother, who passed away back in December of 2016.

According to Ticketmaster, tickets for the event go on sale at 10:00 a.m. on October 29th. Rebel only holds around 2,000 at max capacity, so those interested in going should remember to set a reminder for themselves to avoid missing out.
