The facade alone will reportedly cost $1M+ to build.
Toronto is a city home to many luxury and high-end brand names. And, later this year, one of the most recognizable leaders in fashion will up its game in the 6ix. Louis Vuitton's Yorkdale Mall flagship store is coming to the shopping centre this year, with an opening date currently set for sometime this summer.
LV already has a presence in Toronto, with a storefront downtown on Bloor Street and a space at Holt Renfrew in Yorkdale.
As per Retail Insider, the French luxury brand is thought to be dropping approximately $1 million just on the facade of the new location. It will span 8,000 sq. ft. on one level, over twice the size of Vuitton's current Yorkdale spot.*
The new flagship will feature signature luxury handbags and other accessories, footwear, jewellery, as well as men's and women's clothing.
It will reportedly be located across from Yorkdale's Sephora and Zara locations, as well the Disney Store. It will take over space previously held by Tumi, Call It Spring, and Indochino, which all relocated, as well as Thomas Sabo, which permanently closed its Yorkdale store.
In an Instagram post announcing the new store, Yorkdale's official account confirmed the current Louis Vuitton space in Holt Renfrew will remain open even after the massive new flagship is open to the public.
It also verified that the store is expected to open sometime in the summer of 2020.
The company has a rich history in the city of Toronto.
The first Louis Vuitton store in the 6ix opened on Bloor in 1983. It was later replaced in 2012 with a much larger location at 150 Bloor St. W.
In addition to its Toronto stores, the designer brand also has locations in Montreal, Calgary, Edmonton, and Vancouver.
