Reports have surfaced that Nova Cannabis, the third Toronto legal cannabis store to open this month, will be up and running in just a few days. This Saturday, April 20th, Nova Cannabis will open its doors to the public. The store officially received its license by the Alcohol and Gaming Commission (AGCO) last week.
Alberta-based Nova Cannabis missed Ontario's April 1st opening deadline, but finally got the green light from the AGCO on Saturday. The store will set up shop in the 3,000-square-foot space at 499 Queen Street West - the retail storefront that used to house American Apparel.
Nova Cannabis' Toronto location will be just down the street from Toronto's first legal pot shop, The Hunny Pot Cannabis Co., located at 202 Queen Street West, no more than a kilometre away.
Alcanna Inc., a liquor company also based in Western Canada, operates five Nova Cannabis outlets in Alberta and has seen a surge in its stock price since announcing its involvement in Nova Cannabis' location in Toronto.
The cannabis company's website invites curious customers to visit the store in person, stating "Your cannabis experience begins with questions. Come in store to find the right answers to commonly asked questions."
Nova Cannabis will open its doors to the public this Saturday (a.k.a. 4/20) at 9:00 AM. How fitting!
