For the first time ever in Canada, passengers will be able to get Uber Eats food delivered right to their gate while they wait to board their flight. It's only happening in one city in the entire world, and luckily for us, it's taking place in Toronto. Toronto Pearson is now the first airport in the world to deliver Uber Eats right to your gate.
The airport revealed the exciting announcement today in a news release. "Something delicious is being delivered at Canada's largest airport—literally," read the release.
"As part of a pilot program—the first of its kind in the world—Toronto Pearson, Uber Eats and HMSHost have partnered to bring Uber Eats to Toronto Pearson's Terminal 3 International and Domestic Departures area."
This means passengers at the Toronto Pearson airport can now satisfy their food cravings by ordering Uber Eats right to their gate. We are so here for this. What better way to kill time when you're waiting to board your flight than by chowing down on some delicious food that is brought right to you?
So how do you get your Uber Eats delivery? It's super easy – all you have to do is use the Uber Eats app on your phone and select the meal you want to be brought to your gate.
There is a wide selection of food options to choose from. "From burgers, burritos and smoked meat to shawarma, shepherd's pie and fish and chips, travellers are sure to find something they enjoy from Caplansky's Deli, Paramount Fine Foods, Smoke's Burritorie, Smashburger or Fionn MacCools," reads the news release.
Toronto Pearson and Uber hope to bring more innovation to the airport with this new venture. "We're making the dining experience a more convenient part of travel, in one of the world's most innovative airports, one meal at a time," said Marcus Womack, Head of Global Airport Products at Uber, in the news release.
This pilot program is set to be running until the third quarter of 2019. The Uber Eats delivery is available for Terminal 3's International and Domestic Departures area at gates B22–B41 and C30–C36 in Terminal 3.
