Protestors Are Shutting Down Toronto Streets And Stopping Traffic Right Now (VIDEOS)
Traffic is reportedly blocked in all directions.
Widespread protests continue throughout the GTA this Monday. A Toronto protest today has shut down the intersection of Keele Street and and St. Clair Avenue West after a group animal rights protesters began gathering in the area. According to Stephanie Henry, a traffic reporter for Breakfast Television, police are on-scene to keep things peaceful, but traffic remains blocked in all directions.
More videos of the protests are starting to emerge social media, taken by individuals at the scene.
The TTC reported at just before 8:30 a.m. on Monday that service was suspended on the 512 St. Clair streetcar between Gunns Loop and Lansdowne Avenue due to the demonstration, but has since resumed. Buses were also diverting around the area.
On Twitter, several people are claiming that they have been stuck at the intersection for over 15 minutes as demonstrators refuse to let cars pass.
This is an ongoing story. More updates will be provided as new details become available.
