It’s Going To Feel Like 30°C In Toronto Today
Toronto may experience its hottest day of the year so far on Thursday.
Summer-lovers can finally rejoice today upon learning that Toronto will be treated to some very warm temperatures Thursday. CBC News reported that according to Environment Canada, Toronto's weather today is expected to reach a high of 25°C by this afternoon, but with the humidex, it'll actually feel more like 30°C.
This morning, the city will see a mix of sun and clouds with temperatures rising every hour from 15°C at 8:00 AM. to 21°C by noon. After 2:00 PM, temperatures will peak. But the warmth doesn't end once the sun goes down. Temperatures are expected to remain warm into this evening, decreasing to just 16°C by 10:00 PM.
When it comes to the weather, however, the story here isn't quite as sweet. Despite Thursday's UV index rising to seven, which is classified as "high", we won't be seeing much sun today.
There's a risk of thunderstorms this afternoon in Toronto, with conditions favourable for thunderstorms expected to develop across the province throughout the day. You'll want to keep an umbrella with you today since the Weather Network has been referring to heavy rain, strong winds, frequent lightning and hail.
In the Greater Toronto Area, the risk of thunderstorms will clear by the mid-afternoon mark - right as temperatures reach their maximum - just before the sun is expected to return at 6:00 PM. From there, a more severe storm threat will persist in eastern Ontario throughout the evening.
Thunderstorms aren't the only extreme weather Torontonians will need to be on the lookout for. Winds are expected to increase as the day progresses, with gusts as strong as 50 kilometres per hour.
