A shocking video shared by Toronto Police on Thursday depicts a violent purse robbery in the elevator of a midtown condo building. The Toronto woman assaulted is 35 years old and was attacked last month, at around 11:20 PM on Saturday, June 1st. Police posted the security camera footage along with a public news release, saying that the man is wanted in a robbery investigation.

Police allege that the unknown man followed the woman into the condo, then into the elevator. He indicated to the woman that he had a weapon and physically assaulted her. 

In the video, the man can be seen ripping the purse from the woman's hands after throwing her to the ground. He forces her out of the elevator and clutches the purse. He pushes the door close button and then wipes it with his shirt as if to erase his fingerprint.

Police released a detailed description of the suspect. He is believed to be in his 30s, and around 5'9". Police describe him as having a "thin to medium build, fair complexion, with very short straight light brown hair."

"He was wearing a bright pink hoodie with 'Canada' written on the front in white letters, red patterned baseball cap with solid black brim with a 'Deadpool' logo on hat, black Adidas track pants with a white stripe down the leg, black runners, and an orange Jansport backpack with black straps," the description continues.
