Canada's First Ever 'Dry Bar' Is Set To Open In This Canadian City
The bar will open on July 11.
The number of millennials choosing to drink less alcohol continues to rise throughout the world. To keep up with this trend, one owner in Montreal is opening Canada's first ever 'dry bar'. This bar, which will be opening its doors on July 11, will feature the bar atmosphere that millennials love, without the pressure of drinking any boozy cocktails. Instead, the bar will be handing out gorgeous drinks that are completely alcohol-free.
Mindful Bar in Montreal will be opening its doors next week and according to the owner, Isabel Tames, it will be the first dry bar of it's kind in Canada. Tames told CTV News that as someone who has been sober for two years she wishes to create a social space for adults that allows guests to feel like they are in a bar without the drinks.
Mindful Bar will be shaped like any other bar and will have a stage for live music, DJs, and comedians to perform throughout the nights.
One thing that will separate this bar from the rest? Its Instagram worthy alcohol-free drinks. The entire drink menu will only feature drinks that contain no alcohol and will be made out of herb-infused syrups that create the perfect cocktail feel.
Some of the drinks that Mindful Bar have already posted on their Facebook page look amazing. They feature everything from a booze-free Sangria to nonalcoholic cocktails.
Despite the fact that the menu will be booze-free, the bar is still an adults-only location, giving it even more of a true, bar feeling. Mindful Bar states, however, that it will host family Sunday.
According to CTV News dry bars are becoming increasingly popular throughout the United States. Dry bars have opened in popular cities such as New York, Austin, Texas, and Portland.
Tames told CTV that "Not drinking is very trendy now. People are questioning themselves if alcohol is taking a lot of space in their lives."
So if you find yourself in the Montreal area after July 11, make sure to check out these amazing, alcohol free drinks.
