As most Quebec students have returned to school for the year, it seems they have left a growing labor shortage at places where young people are typically employed, especially at Tim Hortons. It's so severe that, many Quebecers in search of their daily Double-Double have discovered closed doors in the past few days, as several Tim Hortons in Quebec are closing due to this lack of employees.

The restaurants aren't closing completely, however. As a result of the shortage, many Tim Hortons locations across the province are only operating their drive-thrus and not the full dining room due to a lack of staff.

For example, TVA Nouvelles reported yesterday that this was the case at two particular Tim Hortons in the Sherbrooke area. The said that the restaurant on King Street West had to close its dining room early after three employees didn't show up.

Meanwhile, at the Tim Hortons in the Saint-Elie neighbourhood, they were only serving customers via the drive-thru from the start of the day.

While these particular Tim Hortons are likely in hiring mode, many commented on the news yesterday saying that it's just not these two franchises that have experienced these kinds of staffing shortage issues.

It seems that these closures have also occurred at  Tim Hortons in Laval, Mascouche, Quebec, Rigaud, Beloeil, and Saint-Hilaire, just to name a few. Some have only closed their dining room or drive-thru, but others have closed completely overnight.

In response to the news, many others note in comments, originally written in French, that along with experiencing closures, the quality of service is deteriorating at the Tim Hortons in Quebec.

Based on this labour shortage news, if you are looking for a job Tim Hortons definitely has some openings!
