Roll Up The Rim Starts Next Week But You Have To Get The App To Play
Paper cups are only given out for the first two weeks.
It's almost time for one of Canada's most iconic contests, but with a twist. This year you'll need the Roll Up The Rim app to take part in the contest for all four weeks after it starts on March 11. The good news is you get more plays when you go digital.
Tim Hortons is finally launchingfor 2020 next Wednesday on March 11.
You can play this revamped version of the contest the good old fashioned way with the cups but having the app and playing digitally has its perks.
For the first two weeks, you get two rolls — one on the cup and one on the app — when you buy a hot beverage and scan your Tim Rewards card.
Also, the paper cups are only available for those first two weeks so if you want to play for the full four weeks, you'll have to download the Tim Hortons app.
Once you've done that, you can sign up and get a card number or, if you already have a physical one, link the card number to your account.
Then when you buy a hot beverage while Roll Up The Rim is going on and scan your app or card, the rolls will appear in your app after.
A Tim Hortons representative confirmed to Narcity that in the app, there's a tile that you can tap on to see how many rolls you have left to play.
Even though you won't be playing with an actual cup when you get digital rolls, there will still be a graphic of a Tims cup for every play.
You can either swipe your thumbs to "roll-up" just like you would for a regular paper cup or tap a button on the screen that does it for you.*
If you want even more chances to win, you can buy a hot beverage in a reusable cup or mug and get three digital rolls during the entire contest.
With your digital rolls and the paper ones, there are more than 17 million coffee and food prizes to be won.
There are also 45,000 $25 TimCards, 200 Samsung 55" NU6900 Smart 4K UHD TVs, 150 $1,000 CIBC Prepaid Cards, 100 40,000 AIR MILES Reward Miles and 10 2020 Hyundai IONIQ Electric or Hybrid vehicles up for grabs.
For digital rolls, Tims has also done away with Please Play Again.
Instead, when you scan your registered rewards card and get a non-winning one, you'll get entered into one of four draws to win $100,000.
For most of the prizes this year, yourare lower than they were last year.
Roll Up The Rim runs until April 7.
