Sophie Trudeau Is Getting Lots Of Love On Twitter After COVID-19 Diagnosis

COVID-19 is starting to affect people that we all know. Among some of the newest high profile cases is Sophie Trudeau, who was confirmed as having the virus on March 12. Some prominent Canadians have already shared supportive messages on Twitter.
The Prime Minister shared the news in a March 12 tweet, writing, "I have some additional news to share this evening. Unfortunately, the results of Sophie’s COVID-19 test are positive. Therefore, she will be in quarantine for the time being. Her symptoms remain mild and she is taking care of herself and following the advice of our doctor."
The Prime minister stated in follow-up tweets that he would be continuing to self-isolate, and would conduct any meetings through teleconference.
"Being in quarantine at home is nothing compared to other Canadian families who might be going through this and for those facing more serious health concerns," Sophie Trudeau said in a statement shared by CBC News host Vassy Kapelos.
"We will get through this situation together. Please share the facts and take your health seriously."
According to a statement from the Prime Minister's office, Sophie is "feeling well, is taking all the recommended precautions and her symptoms remain mild.
In addition, the statement said that the Prime Minister is still feeling fine and not showing any symptoms.
has already received an outpouring of support on Twitter from fellow politicians who wished her a speedy recovery.
"Sending well wishes to Sophie and hoping for a quick recovery And wishing good health to the PM and their family," wrote NDP leader.
Conservative leader Andrew Scheer also shared a message of support, tweeting "Very sorry to hear that Sophie Grégoire Trudeau has been diagnosed with COVID-19. Jill and I wish her a speedy recovery. We’re thinking of her and her family at this difficult time."
Premiers John Horgan andalso shared their own support for Sophie Trudeau.
"We're wishing Sophie Trudeau a quick recovery and the best of health to PM @JustinTrudeau and their family," Horgan wrote.
"I’m very sorry to learn that Sophie Grégoire Trudeau has been diagnosed with COVID-19. I hope that she gets well soon, and wish the Trudeau family the best in getting through this health challenge," Kenney tweeted.
As of March 12, there are 138 confirmed cases in four provinces, with three probable cases in three others.
